Tutor volunteers work with students either one-on-one or in small groups of up to six for a minimum of three hours per week. Tutors are asked to commit a period of one academic year (Sep-Jun) and to report teaching hours on a monthly basis.

To be a tutor you must be at least 18 years old, a good communicator in English, responsible, flexible, energetic, patient, conscientious and willing to help and attend our Tutor Training..

The Literacy Council provides free training for ESL tutors. Training is held at our Wenatchee offices in three evening sessions from 6pm to 9pm, comprising a total of nine hours. Please call 509 682 6966 for information on upcoming sessions.
